On the 21st of the March, JNU announced that Professor Kim Jin-geun, Department of Environmental Engineering at College of Ocean Sciences, received the President’s Commendation for his work on0320 water management at the Water Korea Fair held to commemorate World Water Day.

Professor Kim was recognized for his contribution to the advancement of domestic water management while working at the Korea Water Resources Corporation and JNU for 32 years. He served as vice president of the Korea Water and Sewerage Association and the Korea Water and Environment Association. He has written more than 40 domestic and international academic papers, including SCI papers. In addition, Prof. Kim recently conducted a study on the Ministry of Environment's technical support for responding to accidents in the field of edible water and preparing a plan to introduce a sanitary safety certification system for water purification plants.

'Water Korea', which has been held since 2002, is Korea's representative water industry exhibition, hosted by the Korea Water and Wastewater Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment.
