The JNU Polo Team held an inauguration ceremony at the JNU Equestrian Center, and was officially launched on the 7th of April.

The JNU Polo Team was founded for the first time in Korea through the sponsorship of the Korea Polo Club (CEO Ko Young-man) based on the Polo Club established in September 2022. Through the launch of the JNU Polo Team, Jeju National University plans to focus on fostering human resources in the leisure sports industry related to the horse industry. In addition, JNU will strengthen its global capabilities through friendly matches with the world's leading university polo teams centered on the Ivy League in the United States.

At the event, JNU and the Korea Polo Club signed a business agreement to foster the Jeju Polo industry, cooperate with horse treatment and contribute to the community, and revitalize Polo teams. In addition, the Korea Polo Club's contribution ceremony to the university development fund was also held at the inauguration ceremony.

JNU President Kim Eel-hwan said, "Through the establishment of the Korea's first polo team, JNU will support the development of the horse industry and tourism leisure sports industry, which are specialized fields of JNU, and strengthen the JNU’s global capabilities through exchange activities with prestigious universities.“
