Documentary Artist Park Hyo-young, KRW 70 Million worth of Artworks to JNU

Park Hyo-young, a master of Court Documentary Painting, visited JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) to donate two of her artworks on Nov. 8.
The donation ceremony was attended by Artist Park Hyo-young, professional director of Dongyang Ilbo Park Min-soon, Dean of Veterinary College at Chungbuk National University, Kim Dong-jeon, JNU Vice President, Lee Young-jae, Dean of Veterinary College at JNU, and Yoon Young-min, Director of JNU Animal Hospital.
Park created "Jeju Samhyeondo" and "Paljunmado" through three months of work. One of two donated artworks is a replica of "Jeju Samhyeon-do" in a Haedong map produced in the late Joseon Dynasty, and the other is "Paljunmado," a folk painting depicting nine horses which contains her wish for the development and prosperity of JNUs veterinary school. The two works are worth about KRW 72 million.
Born in Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, Park was a student of Kim Man-hee, the 18th folk art craftsman of Seoul's Intangible Cultural Property in 1976. She completed the course in 2011 and she was designated as a master of recording in the Korean Culture and Arts Court in 20123. In 2016, she was invited in the traditional art category of Grand Art Exhibition of Korea.
In 2017, Park donated simulations of Cheongju-eupseongdo and Sangdang-sanseongdo to Cheongju-si, and she also donated Daon Nuri (a work depicting pets which is worth KRW 30 million) to Animal Hospital at Chungbuk National University in December 2022.
Park won the Seoul Mayor's Award at a collection contest for donating works of Korean artists and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the Korea Contemporary Women's Art Competition.
