On Nov. 16, “JNU Hallimwon”, a policy advisory institute, held a forum at JNU Aramuzu Hall.

Established on June 8, 2023, JNU Hallimwon serves as an advisory body created in order to not only cope with rapidly changing higher education environments such as a decrease in school-age population, industrial revolution, and digital transformation, but also make innovation plans and policy suggestions to strengthen JNU's competitiveness. It consists of experts in each field, including education, economy, media, culture and arts, and civil society.

Song Seung-hwan, a member of the committee who was in charge of the opening and closing ceremonies of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, shared various stories to young Jeju residents under the theme "Culture is Competitiveness." Cho Jung-rae, chairperson of the Creative Science Foundation, made a presentation of "Beyond the Technology-Education Race.“

Hosted by Hwang Jin-taek, Chairperson of the board of the Global Energy Forum, the other members of Hallymwon and the youth representatives, Yoon Hyung-joon, CEO of Caprix Co., Ltd., and Park Mi-sun, a fourth-year trade student at JNU had a general discussion on "Our Roman, My Suggestion".

JNU President Kim Eel-hwan said, "Hanlimwon aims to bring various perspectives from outside to JNU and suggest ways to strengthen its competitiveness and grow together with the local community. This forum would give a meaningful platform to share these insights to JNU students."
