On Oct. 31, JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) held Jeju Natural Pharmaceutical Research Center’s signboard ceremony ((Director Hyun Jin-won, Hereafter Jeju NPRC) at JNU Medical School.

JNU president, the head of JNU Hospital, major officials in JNU, and researchers in the center attended the ceremony. After the signboard ceremony, a commemorative seminar was held with the presentation of Prof. Choi Doo-seop of the Mayo Clinic Medical School in the U.S.

Jeju NPRC was selected for the 2023 University-focused Research Institute Support Project in Science and Technology, which was held by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation. The center is operated under the theme of "Skin Disease Control Strategy for Response to Fine Dust Based on Natural Materials. “

JNU expects to secure a connection with the green/red bio sector, a key task of the "Jeju Bio Industry Promotion Strategy (2023.6.)" and foster research personnel in the field of medicine and bio based on natural materials in Jeju and promote cooperation with related industries in the region.
