The JNU RISE Project Group (Head Kang Chul-ung) secured a total of six awards, notably the "2025 Best Local Innovation Case Award," at the "2025 Industry-Academic Cooperation EXPO" held from October 29 to 31.

The EXPO is Korea's largest industry-academic cooperation event, bringing together universities, research institutes, and companies nationwide to share best practices and foster a sustainable regional innovation ecosystem. The JNU RISE Project Group showcased leading operational achievements of the RISE model, covering topics such as regional innovation-based system improvement and 2025 regional innovation best practices.

Notably, JNU received the grand prize in the System Improvement category for 'promoting the institutionalization of RISE through the establishment of the 'Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Ordinance on the Promotion and Support for Operation and Management,' a first in Korea. This initiative is gaining recognition as a global education innovation model, established through a collaborative system between local governments and universities.

JNU further demonstrated its commitment to both regional and educational innovation by securing various additional awards. These included: the Excellence Award for the 'Small Business Digital Transformation Marketing Cooperation Program;' the Joyment Award for the 'K-Education and Research Launch Cooperation Model;' the RISE-UP Challenge Excellence Award for 'Policy Proposal through a Healthcare Campaign for Traditional Market Merchants;' the Capstone Design Participation Team's RISE IDEA Competition Grand Prize; and recognition for the RISE Program Participation Review Contest.

Kang Chul-ung, Head of the JNU Industry-Academic Cooperation Center, said, "JNU will do its best to help young talent establish roots in the Jeju region, serving as a hub for regional innovation, and to disseminate a sustainable model where industry-academia ties flourish synergistically."
