JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) announced that 7 JNU professors were selected as the world's top 2% best researchers analyzed and published annually by Elsevier, an academic research publishing and information analysis company, and John P.A. Ioannidis, a professor at Stanford University in the U.S. This shows that these professors at JNU have been recognized for their world-class research capabilities and achievements.

The 'World's Top 2% Researchers' are from the researchers around the world who have published at least 5 papers in a total of 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields, based on the database provided by 'SCOPUS', a citation index for excellent academic papers. The final selection is made based on the influence of the calculated paper citations.

The top 2% researchers from JNU: △ Jeon You-jin (Major of Aquatic Life Medicine), △ Kim Gi-young (Major of Marine Life Science), △ Lee Jung-hoon (Major of Data Science), △ Mok Young-sun (Chemical Engineering), △ Kim Sang-jae (Mechanical Systems Engineering), △ Park Nam-je (Teachers College), △ Kim Min-chan (Chemical Engineering).
