JNU Museum (Director Paik Young-gyung) was selected as a participating organization in the 2024 Folk Living History Museum Cooperation Network Project ‘K-Museums Joint Planning Exhibition’ organized by the National Folk Museum of Korea.
The Folk Living History Museum Cooperation Network Project has been promoted by the National Folk Museum of Korea since 2005 in order to strengthen the capacity and revitalize the operation of local museums, which supports joint planning exhibitions, educational development and operation. The National Folk Museum of Korea has selected three organizations for the 2024 project: JNU Museum, Busan Maritime Natural History Museum, and Korean Cartoon Museum.
With government expenditure, JNU Museum plans to hold a special exhibition on traditional Jeju crafts in the second half of 2024. The construction cost of exhibition rooms, publishing costs for books, and operating personnel for joint planning exhibitions will also be supported.
JNU Museum and the National Folk Museum of Korea will prepare for the exhibition through close collaboration from planning, design and operation.
Director Paik Young-gyung said, “JNU Museum plans to complete the facility improvement work by May next year and showcase the renovated facilities at the opening of the joint exhibition. JNU will hold the special exhibition as an opportunity for the JNU Museum to take another leap forward. I hope JNU Museum is given a lot of support and anticipation.”
