JNU·Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education-Second half Policy Council

JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) and Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Kwang-soo) held a policy consultation meeting for the second half of 2023 at the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education on Dec.20.
This policy council meeting is held semi-annually in accordance with the exchange agreement between the two organizations in December 2022, and this is the third meeting.
At the meeting, a total of 7 agendas (1 joint agenda, 4 Office of Education agendas, 2 JNU agenda items) and other agenda items were discussed. In particular, as an important issue of special education teacher training in Jeju was discussed, which both organizations proposed as a common agenda.
In addition, the Office of Education proposed a total of four agendas for the high school credit system, the development of digital literacy textbooks, information education using Jeju-type public data, and the operation of mental health promotion projects. JNU proposed two agendas, a career and employment support program for local high school students and IB teacher training. In this regard, the two institutions held in-depth discussions.
JNU President Kim Eel-hwan said, "Based on the results of this policy council meeting, working-level discussions will take place in the departments in charge of both institutions. And the two institutions will continue to cooperate to promote mutual development in the fields of elementary, secondary, and higher education in Jeju."
