JNU has been selected for the ‘Regional Specialized Youth Trade Expert Training Project (GTEP)’ supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea and operated by the Korea International Trade Association.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association held a contest for participating universities from Oct. 30 to Nov. 24. The final 20 universities among the 26 universities were selected by verifying on-site training facilities and reviewing business promotion plans.

With the selection of the GTEP project, JNU will operate the project for three years until 2026. In addition, it will cultivate trade experts and support exports of small and medium-sized enterprises in the province through industry, government, and academic convergence trade practices, on-site training, and e-commerce activities, etc.

The JNU GTEP Project Group operates on a regular basis every year with Southeast Asia as a specialized region. In the 18th group operating in 2024, 41 students will carry out export activities through industry-academic cooperation with SMEs through trade practice, education specialized in overseas regions, participation in overseas exhibitions, e-commerce practice, etc. for more than 480 hours for 15 months until March 2025.

Her Yun-seok, head of the GTEP project at JNU, said, "JNU will actively provide education and practice opportunities to JNU students who want to grow into trade professionals and contribute to export promotion and job creation by supporting export activities of companies in Jeju."
