JNU-ASKBASE MOU to Establish a Leading Research System in Longevity Industry

President Kim Eel-hwan of JNU and CEO Lee Tae-hee of ASKBASE signed a business agreement at JNU on Feb. 27, marking a pivotal step in the JNU innovation project aimed at achieving Glocal University 30 status.

The two organizations have agreed to collaborate with the aim of establishing global competitiveness and leading research systems in the Longevity industry, outlined as follows: △ Collaborative initiatives to elevate Jeju into a global hub for Longevity research and industry. △ Infrastructure enhancement to propel growth in Jeju's primary industry, as well as the food and cosmetics sectors. △ Joint promotion of primary industry and food and cosmetics workforce training programs. △ Joint promotion of research and technology development projects in the primary industry and food and cosmetics domains. △ Sharing of research infrastructure, educational programs, and human resources, among other aspects, etc.

ASKBASE is a raw material production company specializing in the extraction and fermentation processes of natural products, producing ingredients for cosmetics and health functional foods. Renowned for its exceptional research capabilities, ASKBASE excels in differentiated technology and related product development, harnessing the unique properties of giant bottle grass and Jeju lava seawater native.

Lee Tae-hee, CEO of ASKBASE, expressed, "This presents a significant opportunity to engage in collaborative research with JNU's leading scholars." He further affirmed, "ASKBASE is committed to maximizing outcomes beyond the scope of this agreement through tangible cooperation, such as swiftly actualizing shared research findings at the corporate level."

Kim Eel-hwan, President of JNU, emphasized, "The Longevity industry stands as a cornerstone of JNU's global business initiatives. With this MOU, JNU is committed to advancing research across various domains, including new drug development and digital healthcare, alongside the functional food and cosmetics sectors, leveraging the combined technological expertise of both institutions."
