JNU Research Fund KRW117.2 Billion, First Step to KRW 150 Billion

JNU announced that the research project fund for 2023 managed by the JNU Industry-Academic Cooperation Group totaled KRW 117.2 billion, including KRW 35.9 billion in local government-university cooperation-based regional innovation (RIS) projects.

JNU expressed its firm commitment to strengthen the university's research competitiveness and develop a research ecosystem through the mid-term development plan of JNU. In connection with the 11th president's pledge implementation strategy, its efforts are being made to strengthen various research support activities.

As part of a strategic action plan called 'Providing a Strong Finance to Support JNU Development', it set the goal of 'Raising KRW150 billion in Research Project Fund'. Besides, JNU is continuing its efforts to strengthen support for project planning, discovery, and research activities such as R&D in large countries in order to create a research ecosystem for JNU.

President Kim Eel-hwan said, "JNU has been continuing systematic cooperation with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in preparation for the transformation of the Regional Innovation-oriented University Support (RISE) system, which attracts Glocal University 30 projects and promotes shared growth in Jeju and JNU. Furthermore, JNU is dedicated to enhancing its research and development through the expansion of the research support system."
