Trademark and Design Contests to promote Jeju Folk Culture
Jointly with Jeju Autonomous Government, Jeju TechnoPark, Jeju Chamber of Commerce, and Seogwipo Industry and Science High School, Jeju National University Intellectual Properties Education Center (Kim In Joong, Director) holds trademark and design contests to promote and authenticate Jeju’s folk cultural items, it was announced earlier today (April 29, 2020).
Contest entrants may apply online by May 31, 2020 (https://forms.gle/M9dm2u37wvgWrNFR7). Winners will be announced during June of this year.
The prize-winning works may be supported for patent applications and/or national contests/exhibitions.
Prizes include: △Gold = JNU Presidential Prize (1 million won) △Silver = Jeju Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board and Jeju TechnoPark President (0.5 million won), and other prizes available.
The contests aim at identifying and developing the exemplary cases of assessing the intellectual property values of Jeju’s folk culture as tangible and intangible resources.
Youths with creative and imaginative ideas are particularly urged to enter the contests.
Individuals as well as teams (with <3 members) are eligible to apply. Contest items to be submitted
include those publicly disclosed <6 months or <4 years after filing patent application. For queries,
