JNU gets designated as national knowledge/information repository

Jeju National University (Song Seok-Eon, President) has been designated as a national knowledge and information depository “OAK; Open Access Korea Repository” with the central library as the reservoir site, it was announced last Wednesday (July 1, 2020).
The OAK repository project being implemented by the National Library supports the worldwide users for their access to digitalized national information for research at a variety of organizations.
The JNU OAK develops an ultramodern repository based on the OAK metadata standards, and and it will be connected to the internal system under the grant of free maintenance and managers’ education for 1 year.
Director of the library Kim So Mi (Faculty of Biotechnology) said that the OAK repository developed makes it possible to systematically collect and organize the scholastic data in Jeju for ready access.
