Prof. Ko’s “Japanese Education Law” on Korean Academy best books list

Professor Ko Jeon of the Jeju National University Teachers College has his work (Park Young Story, 710 pp) on the 2020 Korean Academy of Science’s best books list, it was announced earlier today (July 14, 2020).

The present book is the first in dealing with the Japanese education law, following Professor Ko’s previous works (2002) and (2014).

Professor Ko’s work is based on his studies at Keiyo University and Tokyo University where he researched the education law of Japan.

Part 1 of the book concerns Japanese education law and its system, history, education law, constitutional clauses, and effects on the Korean education law, whereas part 2 discusses the education basic law, education administration rules and regulation, school education laws, advanced education law, private school regulation, social education laws. The final chapter describes legislative laws, education welfare policy, quality and management of teacher qualifications, regional education administration and legislative policy, and issues of the education law.
