JNU research program lauded for safety measures

Jeju National University (Song Seok-Eon, President) has been cited for its safe management of research laboratories in the 2020 laboratory safety performance organizations evaluated by the Ministry of Science Technology and Communication, it was announced earlier today (July 20, 2020).

The ministry selected Gyeongsang National University and Yeungnam University, in addition to Jeju National University this year.

Previously, Jeju National University was listed for its safe management of research laboratories by the national research safety management headquarter (2018).

The university has taken a variety of safety measures for the research program including safety related education and training, development of general laboratory safety system, and implementing laboratory accident prevention measures (2019).

President Song emphasized the continued efforts to spread the safety culture throughout the university research community.

A national performance award ceremony will be conducted later in November, delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
