WISET Project conducted “coeds engineering research camp”

Jeju National University WISET (Women in Science, Engineering and Technology) Project (Professor Lee Eun Joo, Department of Fashion Clothing) and Jeju Association of Science and Culture (Kim Chang Keon, President) held the 2020 Girls Engineering Weeks-Coeds’ Innovative Engineering Research Camp on the campus of Jeju National University earlier this week (August 17~20, 2020).
Thirteen teams with 37 girls high students participated in an artificial intelligence maker project.
Each team of 3~3 members proposed an engineering research and manufactured the designed theme under a self-motivated setting in creatively solving problems. The camp has been running on an annual basis since 2013.
At the camp presentation event, Jeju Joongang Girls High School team of Kang Eun Ji and her two classmates and that of Seogwipo Girls High Kim Ye Ji and her two classmates received the best research awards, respectively, earning JNU Presidential Award and Jeju Education Board Superintendent Award. Other winners included Kim So Hye (plus her 2 classmates) of Seogwipo Girls High School, Lee Sa Ya (and her two classmates) of Samsung Girls High School, Hong Seo Hyun (and her two classmates) of Jeju Joongang Girls High School, and Cho Hanyi (and her two classmates) of Shinsung Girls High School.
The USB team experienced in using 3D printer in an artificial intelligence maker project and was greatly impressed with the useful program.
The JNU WISET project has been running the women in science and engineering promotion campaign with the national and regional government agencies.
