생명과학기술혁신센터, ‘축산물 시험·검사기관’ 지정
JNU Center designated as “animal products testing agency”

Jeju National University Life Science and Technology Center (Kim Sae Je, Director) has been approved as an animal product testing and certifying agency (Permit No. 76) from the Gwangju Regional Food and Drug Safety Administration earlier this week.

Previously, testing and sanitary examinations of animal products including meat, eggs, and processed food had been conducted by the Jeju Autonomous Government Animal Sanitary Testing Laboratory. The newly designated center now conducts the testing and quality control certification procedures for Jeju Province.

In addition to the newly assigned food sanitary testing on animal products, the center has been authorized to perform the testing of Jeju’s potable water.

Director Kim said that, with the launching of the new program, the center further contributes to the health status of Jeju residents through quality control of animal products in addition to their drinking water.
