Prof. Kim CW to participate in “Islands in Humanity Studies” project

Jeju National University participates in the national research project “Islands in Humanity Studies.”

As the National Research Foundation selected the university to engage in the 2020 Humanities Korea Plus+Project’s Mokpo National University Library Science Research entitled “Islands in Humanity Studies, its Changes and Sustainability,” Professor Kim Chi Wan of the JNU Department of Philosophy has been asked to take part in the project.

The 7-year project gets 2.1 billion krw grant to conduct the domestic and worldwide islands networking for scientific and educational exchange programs. Islands in Humanity,

Island Ecology and Cultural Diversity and Island Network Study teams comprise the project’s research human resource.

Professor Kim serves as a joint research scholar in the area of life and philosophy in the first team, specifically focusing on the islands and islanders of avant-grade leaders playing a leading role in such socio-political phenomena as exile, discrimination, isolation, and four-run-hitters for humanity landscaping islands, and changing them to systematize the islanders.

The Mokpo university library culture institute carried out the 2009-2019 HK project, and the workshop reporting the launching of the project signals it will be in full swing this month (September 18, 2020).
