Library runs “Myths, Within Jeju Life” program
Jeju National University Library (Kim So Mi, Head Librarian) has been selected for the 2020 Humanities on the Road contests sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Association of Libraries and provides the Myths, Within Jeju Life program from September 5 through October 31, 2020.
The program aims at promoting interest in humanity studies among Jeju citizens and youngmen/women through the open library for continuing lifelong education.
The program illustrates a variety of traditional Jeju myths through 5 lectures and 4 visitation studies:
△Jeju myths compared with world and Korean myths
△Jeju myths illustrated and Jeju’s life style within them, and
△visit to the myths onsite.
Head Librarian Kim said that the program offered the opportunities to explore the healthy life in the 21st century through the understanding of wisdom of life and conservation of the natural environment as implicated in Jeju myths.
The program will be run by the central library, and everyone is welcome to participate in it. There is no fee for the program; call (064-754-2204) for 30 first come served acceptances.
