Dr. Meran wins poster presentation award

Postdoctoral Fellow Meran of the Jeju National University Subtropical Bio-Gene Bank Center (Prof. Kim Jae Hoon, Director) Biomaterials Laboratory (Prof. Kim So Mi, Director) won a superior research poster presentation award at the International Symposium (e-conference) and Annual Meeting of the KSABC held here last week.

The title of the poster was ‘Effect of 10-gingerol on the Lipid-rafts Associated PI3K/Akt Signaling in Radio-resistant Triple-negative MDA-MB-231 Human Breast Cancer Cell’. The study revolved around the effects of 10-gingerol on PI3K/Akt signaling in the radiation resistant human breast cancer cell MDA-MB-231.

Dr. Meran’s research implicates a new therapeutic value for 10-gingerol in the radiation resistant human breast cancer.
