Prof. Hyun JW team discovers reactive oxygen generated in plasma discharge

Professor Hyun Jin Won and her research team of Jeju National University (Song Seok=Eon, President) have their research findings on the mechanism of cellular reactive oxygen generated through plasma discharges published in a recent issue of the journal “Redox Biology (Impact factor 9.986, JCR ranking 6.73%)” (Dr. Kang Kyung Ah, the first author).

Professor Hyun’s research revealed that plasma discharge induced the NADPH oxidase enzyme and as a result, the cellular reactive oxygen species level increased.

Her research was carried out as part of the future plasma agriculture and food fusion technology development project.
