Jeju Region Remote Education Support Center, ‘Outstanding' in Performance Evaluation

Jeju Region Remote Education Support Center(Jeju RESC) (Director, JNU Prof. Ko Chang-youl) received the highest evaluation grade, “Outstanding," in the performance evaluation of the fourth year (2023) operation project. The evaluation is conducted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) for 10 regional centers nationwide.

Evaluated based on the project result report, the evaluation for this year was based on four sectors: △LMS use performance △ studio construction & operation performance △ content development & operation performance △ performance indicators achievement & additional points.

In particular, Jeju RESC received excellent evaluation in the following comprehensive evaluation: △ Efforts to manage and promote infrastructure to promote the production of jointly used remote lectures △ Stable support for jointly used LMS △ Excellent performance in developing and operating jointly used contents △ Excellent performance in contributing to local communities using infrastructure.

Jeju RESC said that the center plans to continue to develop and innovate in the future. It will work with more universities to improve the quality of remote education base on this. Furthermore, the center will provide a better educational environment to learners so that they can improve the quality of distance education as well as the satisfaction of learners," adding, “This achievement is the result of the continuous efforts and dedication of the center. It will continue to do its best for educational innovation and development.”

The project ran from November 2020 to April 2024. All universities in Jeju (Jeju Natonal University (Supervision), Jeju Halla University (Consortium), Jeju Tourism University and Jeju International University (Participation) took part in the joint curriculum. A total of 16 types of contents were developed and operated as a part of this project, resulting in 6,483 students exchanging credits.

Currently, the center has been contributing to stabilization and continuous development of remote education by integrating all universities in Jeju into a single learning management system (LMS) through the Jeju Regional Innovation Platform (RIS) project.
