Engineering Center runs “Dreaming of Start-Up” camp

Under the aegis of Jeju Autonomous Government, Jeju National University (Song Seok-Eon, President) Engineering Education Center (Ahn Ki Joong, Director) conducted the 2020 TBM Start-Up Camp on the JNU campus earlier this week.

The camp program featured Capstone design and smart tourism industry project teams working on their respective ideas and concepts for commercialization that could lead to the start-up opportunities. The TBM (Tech Business Modeling) start-up camp consisted of all aspects of generating commercial companies such as understanding of the start-up system for industrialization, introduction and design of start-up companies, business planning, strategy for financing, understanding of the Organization and intellectual property rights, investor IR, and Kloud funding for mock start-up projects, etc.

Camp participants were evaluated on their potentials to secure prospective funding for their business plans though which △ the best award went to “Moo Eum” team for a plan to reduce the floor noise, △ excellence award to “as Siren” team for no-parking alarm system near fire extinguisher equipment and related facilities, and △ merit award to “Al Market” team for a preparation of Jeju traditional flea market “AR map.”

Director Ahn commented that the TBM start-up camp provided the opportunity for the students to grow with a variety of start-up ideas suitable for Jeju region.
