JNU graduate Kim Min Seok wins “Personality of ROK” award

Kim Min Seok, B.S. and M.S. in energy engineering at Jeju National University (Song Seok-Eon, President) won a “2020 Personality of the Republic of Korea” award earlier this week (December 14, 2020). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering at the University of California- Riverside after having received a research award for his master’s work at the JNU college of engineering last summer.

While at JNU, he was a recipient of Hyundai Chung Mong Ku Foundation scholarship as he was selected for the next generation scientific leaders training program. He was awarded the ROK personality award based on his contributions involving 25 research related activities.

The personality of ROK award program established in 2008 by the Ministry of Education recognizes promising young men and women who are prospective leaders in the Korean society. The award comes with a stipend of 2.5 million krw.
